SPAIN!!

Well I have finally gotten back on track and organized my pictures. It has been a chore. We had over 700 pics to go through, but I think I got he best of them for you. Check out the slide at the end of the post. There are a lot of pics in it!

Spain was beautiful!! Cobblestone streets, Vespa's everywhere, terrace on every window, it was great!! we didn't want to come back, except most of the hotel bed sucked!!

The flight there was very long, we had a 4 hour flight to Miami, then a 4 hour layover before our flight to Madrid. That was a 8 hour flight. It was the longest flight of my life.

The first day we went to the Royal Palace in Madrid, and then were able to go to the Prado Museum. There were some amazing painting from El Greco, Goya, and Velazquez. It was awesome. That night we were able to go to a bull fight. It was great, but very barbaric. It was alot of blood, and kinda cruel, and one of the Matadors got gored at the end. It was pretty exciting.

The next day was in Toledo, it was a great city we were able to see a big Cathedral with LOTS of GOLD!! There was alot of gold everywhere, it was a little bit too much! Every ceiling was fantastic, painted and sculpted.

The next day we went to Cordoba for half the day. In Cordoba we went to this HUGE Islamic Mosque that was conquered and converted to a Catholic Cathedral. The archways in this place was out of control.

The streets were so narrow and beautiful there. But it was HOT!! It was like 112 degrees and 50% humidity. Yuck!

We then continued to Seville to our hotel. We only had a few min to get ready for dinner and the Flamenco Show. It was awesome!! My camera died a few min in, so I didn't get many pictures.

The whole next day as in Seville, we went to another Cathedral. This one had the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

It also had 36 floors to get to the top of the tower! My calves were sore the next day.

The next day on the way down to Granda we stopped in Torremolinos the 'Costa Del Sol' area. We were able to go to the beach for a little while. The only crazy part was the beaches in Europe are "topless optional". YIKES!! But it was a beautiful beach!

Something we found on the beach.

Me and the other girls!

We then headed to Granada to our hotel and bed. The next day was Granada, we went to the Alhambra. This was one of my very favorite. The weather was great! It only got up to about 85 degrees. It was the best weather of the whole trip. The Alhambra was beautiful, and had gorgeous gardens to walk through.

That evening in our free time, we decided to go to the top of the city where we could get some great views of the Alhambra. We had dinner up there at a little cafe, and then took night pics of the Alhambra.

Matt fanning himself at dinner.

The next day we went to Aranjuez, we did a little lunch, sightseeing, shopping and then to dinner in Chinchon. We had our fair well dinner in this old building that used to be an Olive Oil Factory. The dinner was great.

This is us with our tour guide Silvia. Behind us are the huge containers that hold olive oil.

The next day we drove to Madrid for our flights. 10 hours to Miami, and 5 more hours to PHX. Although the flights were long coming back, they still weren't as bad as going there. We were able to sleep for alot of it. We got back on on Sunday at like 3:30am Spain time.

It took us a few days to get back on schedule. And alot longer to get caught up on the rest of life. Sorry it took me so long to get the pictures posted.
Hope you ENJOY!!

Your trip looks awesome! I will have to get the details of who you went with for your tours and travel planning. We are thinking of doing a European trip next year. I know that jet lag from our trip to Japan was brutal; hopefully you are all good now!
